SoCal International Piano Competition
(2020, 2021, 2022-23)
Created in Los Angeles at the beginning of the pandemic with the aim to motivate students during the summer months, this fully online competition gathered highly talented participants from 4 different continents around the globe in its first year and has been expanding ever since.
Founders and directors: Isaac Friedhoff, Sun-A Park, Michael Krikorian, Andrés Jaramillo
23rd Street Piano Festival
(Summer 2018, 2019)
This month-long event sparked creativity and passion for music in young students across Los Angeles. Organized at a local art studio with a community-oriented atmosphere, parents came together to enjoy seeing their children play music with each other, improvise and perform in concert settings. The 2019 edition also included a separate recital for Jazz and pop styles.
Creators: Isaac Friedhoff, Andrés Jaramillo
23rd Street Piano YouTube channel
Named after the summer Festival, this channel is a safe and secure platform for students to present their performances, compositions and other creative musical products in social media. It's also a way for them to enjoy watching their peers and inspire each other.
